Full Description
First day, we meet our guide and private vehicle at Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport. Our trip begins with a visit to Highland Park near the iconic Baku Flame Towers, where we capture the stunning view of Baku. Continuing our tour, we explore the Inner City (İçərişəhər), which includes the UNESCO-listed Shirvanshahs Palace and Maiden Tower, the first structures of Azerbaijan to receive this recognition.
The Inner City is home to historical sites like old fortress walls, Shemakha Gate, Maiden's Fortress, museums, mosques, modern buildings, and green parks. Our guide shares the city's legends as we stroll through its historical streets. We conclude the day at Fevvareler Square, and you have free time to explore Nizami Street, known as Baku's main shopping street.
Second day, after breakfast, we visit the Atesgah Architectural Complex, one of the world's three Zoroastrian Temples, located on the Absheron Peninsula. This temple, continuously burning for years, is a significant pilgrimage site for Zoroastrians. The Atesgah was constructed by the Indian community of the Sinkhlər sect from northern India who settled in Baku.
Our next stop is the Kale Open-Air Archeology and Ethnography Museum, where you can find archaeological artifacts from the Absheron peninsula. The museum covers an area of 156 hectares and exhibits 216 architectural and archaeological artifacts.
Afterwards, we visit the Volcano, a mountain known as the "Land of Fire" and famous for its natural gas-fueled burning. We also take a photo break at the futuristic Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, a symbol of Azerbaijan's future-oriented approach. We return to our hotel after the tour.
Third day, after breakfast, we head to Qobustan National Park, located 56 km from Baku. This park, near the Caspian Sea, is renowned for its archaeological artifacts, including over 600,000 wall reliefs, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Qobustan provides valuable insights into prehistoric and medieval social life, hunting, animals, and vegetation through its carved rocks and illustrated stones. We have free time to explore Baku Boulevard before returning to our hotel and finish our Baku Tour.
